Terminology related to Individuals or Groups
1. Top Management The highest-level individuals or groups responsible for guiding and overseeing an organization at its apex of authority.
Note 1: Top management possesses the capability to delegate authority and allocate resources within the organization.
Note 2: In instances where the management system pertains only to a specific segment of the organization, top management refers to those individuals directing and governing that particular segment.
Note 3: Constituting a fundamental term and core definition as per ISO management system standards outlined in Annex SL of the Consolidated ISO Supplement to ISO/IEC Directives, Part 1.
2. Consultant for Quality Management System An individual who supports the organization in realizing the quality management system, offering advice or information.
Note 1: The quality management system consultant can also contribute to the realization of specific components within a quality management system.
Note 2: ISO 10019:2005 provides guidance on distinguishing a competent quality management system consultant from an incompetent one.
3. Involvement The act of engaging in an activity, event, or circumstance.
4. Engagement Participation in and contribution to activities aimed at achieving mutual objectives.
5. Authority for Configuration Control Board for Configuration Authority for Determination of Configuration An individual or group of individuals assigned with responsibility and authorization to make determinations concerning configuration.
Note 1: It is advisable for relevant stakeholders both within and outside the organization to be represented within the configuration authority.
6. Resolver of Disputes Enhancing Customer Satisfaction An individual designated by a DRP-provider to facilitate the resolution of a dispute. EXAMPLE: Personnel from the staff, volunteers, or contractual personnel.
